BEEF DEMAND IMPROVING. BETTER INQUIRY FOR EWES. Lamb market: New Zealand old season ’s lamb stocks are now small with fair demand for best grades, but market generally depressed owing to large supplies of Australian and South American lamb landing this month. Mutton market: Wethers unchanged with trade slow. Ewes, slightly better inquiry. Beef market: Prices easier, but demand improving. New Zealand porker pigs: Prices lower owing to large supplies of Home-killed selling at low prices.
