CENTRAL HAWKE’S BAY. TO-DAY’S SALE PRICES. There was only a moderate attendance of buyers at the weekly Waipukukau stock sale held to-day. Prices were consistent with recent values, but the market generally was quiet. The yarding of cattle was moderate, and the sheep small. Ewes and lambs were not in special demand, most lines being passed. Similar conditions obtained in regard to cattle. Cattle: Six forward bullocks passed at £6 1 similar, no bid; a line of cows and heifers passed at £5; 1 cow, fair condition, realised £1 5/-; 8 weighty cows and heifers, passed at £5 5/-; 1 cow, fair quality, brought £2 15/-; 1 ditto, prime, passed at £6 7/6; 1 Jersew cow sold for £5; 1 light ditto, £1 10/-; 1 weighty bull, £3 13/6; 70 heavy bullocks from Mangatarata, passed at £5; 14 young heifers (fair), passed at £1 10/-; 29 ditto (larger frames) passed at £2 9/6; likewise 3 young heifers at £1 17/6; 10 young steers (fair), passed at £1 10/-; 3 R.P, steers (fair), realized £3; 6 ditto, but smaller, £1 10/-; 5 steers passed at £2, 2 yearling heifers, ditto, £1; 1 springing heifer, ditto, £3 15/.; 1 weighty bull, ditto, £3 6/-; sound bull, ditto, £3. Fat Sheep: 116 wether hoggets (good), 13/-; 32 likewise, 14/11; 24 shorn wethers (good), IJ/4; 19 ewes (good) passed at 7/6; 22 ewes (good), passed at 3/6; 6 ewes (better quality), fetched 11/-; 296 f. and f. wether hoggets (good) on behalf of Mr. A. E. Russell, 10/10; 119 ewes and 81 lambs (good), passed at 7/7; 30 ewes and 27 lambs realised 4/7; 40 wether hoggets, 7/1; 29 ewes and 24 lambs (fair), passed at 9/6; 48 ewes and 48 lambs (good), no bid; 19 ewes and 20 lambs (fair), passed at 4/3; 48 4 and 5-yr. ewes, with 49 lambs, 7/10; wether hoggets brought 7/2; 27 ewes and 24 lambs, passed at 6/6; 12 f. and f. ewes (good), ditto, 5/-.
