ARCADIA TALKIES, HASTINGS “ANIMAL CRACKERS.” Harpo Marx comes by his fondness for other people’s silverware, watches, ties and handkerchiefs honestly, ho explained at Paramount’s New York studio during a lull in the. filming of “Animal Crackers.” This hilarious feature with the four famous buffoons of “Cocoanuts,” is now showing at the Arcadia Theatre. “Grandfather was a magician, and quite good at it, I understand,” Harpo recalled solemnly. “He once stole the Brooklyn Bridge and was half-way home to the Bronx before they caught up with him.’’ * COSY TALKIES, HASTINGS. “ALWAYS GOODBYE.” The road to stardom in motion pictures is a long and weary one and it takes years for the fortunate few ever to reach tho. top. Yet as all traditions are smashed, so was this one, and the actress who accomplished the seemingly impossible was Elissa Landi, the scintillating English actress who is starred in the Fox picture, “Always Goodbye,” now playing at the Cosy Theatre. Miss Landi impersonates Lila Banning, who has set the pace for Mayfair’s society at the cost of her small fortune Bankrupt, she realizes that she has been leading a life far above her means, yet she dreads the thought of sinking Mown to the middle class. Her tempestuous, fiery nature then leads her into a series of adventures which soon enmesh her in a network of mystery and suspected crime. TOM WALLS-WEDNESDAY. It is with pride and pleasure that the management of the Cosy Talkies, Hastings, takes in announcing it will be presenting Frederick Lonsdale’s greatest comedy, “Canaries Sometimes Sing,” starring this brilliant star of “Rookery Nook,” Tom falls. Intending patrons are advised to make early reservations at Hall’s bookshop, as capacity houses are assured. The season commences on Wednesday afternoon.
