SATURDAY’S PLAY GAMES ON VARIOUS GREENS. ST. LEONARDS CLUB. Ordinary games played over the week-end were:-— Wells, Burfield, Blake, Maher, 25; Upchurch, Carrell, Drury, Godber, 20. Usherwood, C. Burfield, 17; Douthwaite, Carrell, Hawley, Brown, 112. For the Munro Stars, Price and Maher (25) beat, the present holders, Giles and Burge (16). Next; Saturday seven rinks will visit the Port Club to play for the Johnston Cup. A bus will leave the green at 1.15 sharp. GAMES AT THE NAPIER CLUB. WEATHER AND GREENS PERFECT. Owing to other attractions the attendance of bowlers on Saturday afternoon was not as large as usual. The weather and greens were once again perfect, and play continued until late in the evening. BLUFF HILL BOWLING CLUB The Bluff Hill club started its feathers competition on Saturday afternoon, there being only a moderate attendance of members, five of whom were at the opening of the Port green. The day was beautifully fine and the hot sun was tempered by a light cool breeze. Results of play were as follow:— Bestall, Thomson, Napier, Holt (s) 17; Greig, Benjamin,, Dunsford, Newton (s) 15. H. J. Russell, Christie, McClurg, Letham (s) 18; J. W. H. Wood, Dean, J. A. Smith, Robertson (s) 16. La Roche, Hill, Barlow (s) 29; Harston, Douglas, Steele (s) 19. Triggs, W. G. Russell (s) 21; Harvey, McLeay (s) 16. In this last ring McLeay was called away at half-time and his place was filled with c-edit by a retired bowler, C. D. Cornford, who left the club 28 years ago. THE WAIRERE CLUB. A large number of bowlers enjoyed their Saturday afternoon’s sport at Wairere under a full blaze of perfect sunshine, tempered with a pleasant sea breeze. The club sent a team to the Port club’s opening, and was represented by Smith, Carter, Benton and Benson, who reported a win against. A'Dean’s team from Waipawa, after an even contest, by two points. Rink competition games were played at Wairere, and the following results were recorded:—

Miller, Sinclair, Fitzhenry, Ncwhegin 22; Neill, Munro, Black, Forsyth 20. In the champion singles Newbcgiu beat Deaken by 20 to 16; Joll beat Venables, 23 to 10; and Ayling beat Forsyth, 19 to 12.
