MASTERTON SEAT

LABOUR CANDIDATE PROBABLE. Masterton, August 22. The selection of a Labour candidate to contest the Masterton seat at the forthcoming general election was considered at a meeting of party supporters last night. Mr. B. Roberts presided. After an address by the chairman, it was decided to form a Masterton Branch of the Labour Party. Though no definite candidate was in view, it was stated that the Bev. H. Dyson, of Waipawa, and formerly of Masterton, might be induced to stand in the party’s interests. Eventually it was decided to write to the Labour Party head.quarters suggesting that nominations should be called for candidates for the Masterton seat

Another meeting will be held in the near future for the formation of a working committee, when it is hoped that Mr. W. Nash, M.P., will be present.
