DRAMATIC SUICIDE
LEAP INTO MOLTEN METAL. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 30, 9.45 a.m.) London, Dec. 29. Complaining to his. wife that his weekly wage of 32/- was too small, Ernest Gehrmann put on his best clothes, returned to the steel works at Cologne, where he was employed, lighted a cigar and stood near a mixing crucible full of molten metal. As the cover of the crucible was lifted Gehrmann, still smoking, suddenly mounted the staging, jumped into the glowing mass and was immediately incinerated.
