MONTI CARLO SHOOTING. MATCHES ON SATURDAY. The Napier and East Coast Gun Club’s Mardi Gras shoot was held at the Monte Carlo grounds on Saturday in perfect conditions. The entries were large and included competitors from Taumarunui, Taihape, Dannevirke and Makaretu. The first shoot was a 15-bird open handicap, of £l2 10/-, also the T. Parker gold cup valued at 20 guineas. D. M. Campbell took first money with 15 birds, while J. Mills, W. A, Nehoff and E. Groome. 14 birds each, divided second and third money. Campbell won the cup outright. having secured it once previously. F. N. H. Beamish was once holder of the cup, with T. Durie and J. G. Parker runners-up. A trophy for the best novice score went to H. R. Horsnell after a shoot-off with T. Adams. C. Tait won a special trophy. There were 29 entries for the recond shoot, the trophies for which included the Angus McKinnon silver cup, value 15 ginueas. B. Cargill and J. Brotherton (Taumarun.il) each got 15 birds and divided first and second money. Brotherton won the cup in the shoot-off and holds it for six months. The previous hcWer was C. Holt. F. N. Harvey, R. D. Gordon. D. M. Campbell and T. Durie shot off for third money. Durie being the winner. A trophy for the best novice score was won by Gordon, 14 birds, and a special trophy went to R. Scott.
