In anticipation of the commencement of aerial services in the Dominion during the next few months the Postal Department .have decided to issue a special air stamp. The special rate to be charged has also been fixed provisionally.
Tho annual gathering of some 500 natives at Tckoura pa (King Country) at present has taken on a political aspect, in view of the Western Maori by-election. They arc mostly supporters of the Reform candidate, Taite Te Toma, and influential natives present include the Maori King, Te Rata, a Maori princess and Tute Te Toni<\ Yesterday the lit. Hon. J. G. A married Chinese, Low Mee Wab, aged 29, was sent to prison at Auckland for a month for incurring four debts totaling £ll 13s by fraud. He represented to grocers that he possessed a market garden and truck. Although another Chinese offered to make restitution and give the accused a job, Air F. K. Hunt, S.M., took a serious view of the frauds. —Press Association.
