NAPIER GOLF CLUI A BRILLIANT SCENE The Foresters’ Hall, Napier, was hardly large enough to accommodate the throng of dancers who arrived in parties and couples last evening, tor t'lo Napier Golf Club Ball, which is considered one of the premier events of the dancing season in Hawke's Bay. The anangements were in the hands of the following committee: — Mesdames R, W, Dalgleish. F. N. Fussell. Clifton Geddis, W. C. Harrison F. N, Harvey, H. V. Hoadley, R. D. Kettle. J. P. Leahy. F. H. Simpson. W. G. Wood; Hisses J. Landels. R. Scanned and F. Weber; Messrs. H. E. Edgley, F. V. Kettle, I. D. Mac Kay, A. M. Retemeyer, J. Tattersall. Mr. P. F. Higgins carried out the duties of hon. secretary. The hall was decorated with bunches of greenery and bamboo, with artificial pink roses. The lights were shaded in pale and deep rose, and round the wall smaller lights also had little rose shades giving a soft glow. To the left of the doorway were easy chairs and carpets for those who looked on, and to the right was the Cabaret Orchestra. Miss Williams’ orchestra played from the stage all the latest dance music, the orchestra having surrounding decorations of greenery and lovely poin settias in pots. Upstairs a very delicious supper was served the tables being laden with savouries and sweet dishes, and decorated with vases of Ireland poppies and maiden hair, and bowls of violets. At two a.m. the successful function was brought to a close, all the dancers joining in a dance gallop which ended the evening on a bright and merry note. .Those present included Mrs. Dalgleish, smart frock of black georgette, with a long pointed skirt from a moulded hip'line, and an embossed autumn toned bridge coat. Mrs. Fussell .pretty model of ecru lace, with bois-de-rose velvet defining the waist an da go! dtissue coat. Mrs. Harrison, attractive flowing frock of figured ninon in black and lime tones, with a close, fitting bodice. Mrs. Harvey, periwinkle frock with a blue silver tissno bodice and n lace skirt of blue dipping to one side. Mrs. Hoadley. beautiful dress of black moire with a peaked and draped skirt, worn with brilliant ornaments. Mrs. Kettle green shot taffetas in a bouffant effect, defined with cascades of self-toned tulle from the waist . Mrs. 3. P. Leahy, graceful gown of black Chantilly lace falling to the ground, with a bridge coat in embossed rose. Miss F.' H. Simpson, black lace frock, with a full skirt, and a bridge coat in autumn tones. Mrs. W. G. Wood, black georgette and lace model, with a green posy, and moulded hip line dipping long at the hem. Miss J. Landels. japonica frock of ring-velvet made on Prinoesse lines, and cut very long, with a pretty bridge coat of the same material trimmed with grey fox. Miss Ruth Scannell, orange ninon frock cut very long, with a tiered skirt, and a soft bow falling from the low cut neck line at the back. Miss F. Weber, rose pink model of beaded georgette, with a scalloped hem. Mrs. T. H. Lowry, black lace and georgette, made on long draped lines, with a georgette wrap to match the frock. » Mrs. Cyril Williams, black lace frock, with a wrap of chiffon velvet trimmed with fur. Mrs. J. D. Ormond, handsome gold lace gown with a wrap of heavy gold lame. Miss Ira Oimond. sweet gowif of delphinium blue lace, with a very long skirt and a coatee of the same lace Mrs. Sproule, becoming gown of petunia chiffon velvet with an uneven hem dipping in long uneven lines. Mrs. Lindsay Gordon, pale blue mariette model, with trench hand embroideries in ivory. Mrs. Ford North, exquisite gown of silver metal lace, with a slashed low back, and a very long skirt, worn with a silver bridge boat with a Medeci collar. Miss Bull (debutante). very dainty dress of ivory georgette, with a long rucked and tucked with a very long pointe dskirt relieved with touches of blue. A pink and blue Victorian posy was carried. Mrs. Glenny, black lace dress, with an effective brilliant ornament. Mrs. John Mason, black silk fishernet over pale shrimp georgette, cut on lout’'flowing lines. Mrs. R. J. Robertson, deep geranium red frock of georgette, with a very long dipping skirt, and shoes to tana. Mrs. Erio Williams, apple green lace frock with effective gold embossed relief and a coatee of the green lace. Mrs. St. John Hindmarsh, very pretty ecru lace model, with pink anT mauve flowers un the skirt in embossed relief. Mrs. Howard Glazebrook, black taffetas patterned in flame flowers, with a net yoke. Mrs. Douglas Stewart, an exquisite black gown made on long flowing lines with a deep V neck. Mrs. A. J Clark, a very sweet gown of floral ninon in bronze tones, falling in Ibng uneven lines to the ground Airs. Ned Smith white model dress with striking embroideries, and relief of rose and delp. blue.. Airs. Dinwiddje midnight blue georgette frock, fitting closely to the waist with a long uneven hem.

Mrs. Whitworth, her lovely bridal gown of parchment moire ring-velvet with a deeply dipping hem line defined with parchment georgette. Mrs. Clifton Geddes, bois-e-rose lace and georgette gown, with lace yoke and a long uneven skirt. Mrs. T. Holmes, persimon tulle frock, with n dipping hem line, and a bouffant skirt. Mrs Bettington, smart frock of wine red mariette with a dipping flared skirt in handkerchief points. Miss Faulkiner, very handsome frock cut on long lines of ivory ninon, relieved with diamond ornaments, and ivory Chinese shawl. Mrs. J. Wedd, blue lace and georgette model with an uneven hem-iiue. Miss U. Allen, petunia georgette with a heavily embossed silver bodice and georgette skirt. Miss Margot Russell, black lave frock, with a low square cut neck, and a long, graceful skirt. Miss Audrey McLeod, fine ecru lace frock with a tiered skirt, and sash ol brilliant orange. Miss K. Mackersey, black floral georgette in autumn tones. Miss Sylvia Reid, primrose georgette with a moulded bodice and long graceful skirt. Miss Margaret Brodie, pale lemon tulle, with a close fitting bodice embroidered in gold thread.
