TAKAPAU WEDDING

HORTOP—PAGET. A wedding of local interest was solemnised by the Rev. Blathwuyt, at St. Mark’s Church, Takapuu, on Wednesday afternoon. The bride, Jessie Irene Paget, third daughter of Mrs. F. A. Thompson, and the late W. L. Paget, was married tosPrank Charles Horton, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hortop, Tonioana road, Hastings. The church was decorated with autumn flowers and foliage by friends of tho bride, Mr. S. Hewald officiated at the organ, and the hymns “O, Perfect Love ” and “How Welcome Was the Call,” were sung.

The bride, who was given away by her brother, Constable Paget (Wel--1 'f x ton). looked very charming in a gown of ivory satin beaute, with closefitting long sleeves, and a long skirt featuring the uneven hem-line. A lovely veil of embroidered Brussels net was held in place with orange blossoms, and ivory satin shoes were worn, and a sheaf of lilies carried. Miss Rita Paget attended her sister as bridesmaid, attired in a frock of rose pink satin beaute, with closefitting sleeves and an ankle length skirt. A summer felt hat' caught back with “ brilliant ornament was worn, and also pink satin shoes. A bouquet of freesias and rose-buds was carried, and a gold armlet (iipm the bridegroom) worn.

Mr. J. Barraclough, of Hastings, /carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at “Fairview,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Thompson, where Mrs. Thompson received her guests in a smart tweed ensemble, with small felt hat, and footwear to tone. After the usual toasts had been honoured the happy couple left for Auckland. The bride travelled in an ensemble of azure blue satin crepe-de-chine. the -coat beautifully embroidered. A blue felt hat was worn, and 1 a tweed coat, brown shoes, and a brown handbag, also a fox fur necklet (from tho bridegroom) completed the toilette. Guests included;—Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thompson (sister of the bride), Mrs. Paget (grandmother of bride). Miss Louie Paget (sister), Mr.' and Mrs. Percv Amner (Napier).
