DANNEVIRKE BEAT BUSH. Pahlatua, June 11. In the Bebbington Shield challenge Bush lost the shield to Dannevirke by 14—3 on a sodden ground. Showers fell during the game, which was confined mostly to the forwards. With the wind at their backs in the first spell Bush did all the attacking, but failed to make the most of their opportunities, three handy penalties being missed. Mahoney scored Bush’s only try. Dannevirke were well on top in the last half, both forwards and backs proving too fit for Bush. For Dannevirke tries were secured by French and Mills. One was converted by Setford, who kicked two penalties. The • winners now hold the shield.
