SECOND DAY’S ATTENDANCE

There was quite a fair attendance of the public at the Hastings races on Saturday last, in spite of the coldness of the day, which brought forth a flock of fur and tweedy coats. Brwns in its multitudes of tonings seenspd the predominating note, with bottle green a good second.

Amotig those 1 noticed were:— Mrs Ti, H. Lowry, in a handsome black fur coat and stole and small black and white hat. Mrs IV. Richmond, brown costume and nutria brown fur coat, with velour hat turned up off the face.

Mrs Bob Stead, striking tweed ensemble of black and white with small black felt hat.

Mrs T, Gill, Mary blue velour coat, with large fur collar and cuffs, aud blue velour hat.

Miss M. Nelson, chic bottle green velour hat and brown fun coat. Mrs 1. Simson J nr:, effective rognon velvet coat with upstanding collar of beige fur, and hat to tone.

Mrs K. White, black velour coat trimmed with fur and pistuchio green felt hat. Mrs N. Beamish, brown fur coat with smart nigger brown felt hat. Mrs E. Couper, navy faced cloth coat with fur collar, and chic navy hat.

Mrs Gatenby, chic black and white costume and black hat. Mrs Blundell, trim coat of tweed with brown fur collar and small brown hat.

Mrs E. Faulknor, black soalskm coat and smart navy hat. Mrs .1. D. Ormond, black cloth coat and small hat of dark bottle green. Mrs S. Chambers, smart chocolate brown velour coat and brown velour hat.

Mrs Van Asch, navy frock and hat, and handsome fur coat.

Miss G. Simson, grey squirrel coat aud smart black felt hat.

Miss A. McLeod, bracken tweed coat with fur collar and large cavalier cuffs, brown beret and scarlet handbag. Miss C. Symes, brown fur coat and bright hat of orange felt. Miss M. Donnelly, smart cinnamon brown tweed coat and brown felt hat, with orange scarf. Miss M. Stead, beech brown tweed coat with large fur collar and cuffs, and chic brown felt hat. Miss R. Scannell, navy costume and small navy hat with feather chon at one side, brou n fur coat. Miss M. Williams, mastic brown tweed skirt and lung coat with upstanding fur collar, small brown hat with gold ornament. Miss M. Douglas, brown leather coat with furs, and small brown hat. Miss G. Hardy, two-toned green felt hat and handsome fur coat.

Miss J. Symes, brown leather coat and bottle green felt hat trimmed with slanting bands of lighter green felt.

Mrs Shand, lichen green velour coat with pale grey fur collar and cuffs, navy hat trimmed with varicoloured embroideries.

Miss S. Chaplin, cedar brown tweed coat with leather trimming, and small brown felt hat.

Miss D. Hopkinson, smart fawn fur coat and pale cocoa felt hat. Airs F. King, brown face cloth coat trimmed with fur collar adn cuffs, and dark brown velour hat. Miss S. McLeod, navy coat trimmed with brown fur, and brown felt hat.

Miss 0. Petroski, dark bottle green jumper and skirt, and bottle green beret.

Miss J. Evans, brown fur coa.t and lemon felt hat.

Miss M. Ritchie, short coat of soft green suede, and lighter green skirt, with valour hat to tone. Miss K. Ormond, tweed costume with cocoa felt hat. Miss A. Ormond, tweed coat and skirt with small navy hat. Miss Glenny, tweed coat trimmed with fur and nutria brown felt hat.
