OKAWA DEFENCE CLUB KESSELL CUP ROUND. UNPLEASANT CONDITIONS EXPERIENCED,. With a heavy mirage running across the targets, and a changing light, conditions were anything but pleasant at Roy’s Hill during the weekend, when the Okawa dub fired the second round for the Kessell Cup. The ranges were 800 and 900 yards, ten shots at each. At 800 yards President Green was best with 47. dropping three points with “inners” for his second, third and eighth shots. Rifleman Mathewson followed with 48, four points being lost for “magpies” for second and seventh shots.

After lunch the 900 yards range was fired, when conditions were more difficult than in the morning. Here again President Green topped the list with 38. giving him first place in the match with a total of 85. Riflemen Matfierwson and Humphrey’s returned the same handicap total, 85, the former securing secund place on the count back. Detailed scores

WAIPUKURAU CLUB. TROPHY MATCHES.

On Saturday afternoon the Waipukurau Rifle Club fired off for Mr. A. Moore’s trophy, A grade, and Mr. G. L. Chatwin’s trophy, B grade. Good conditions prevailed and some excellent scores were registered. Riflemen Chambers and T. Sullivan in the A grade tied with 69, the former winning in the shoot-off. In the B grade Riflemen T. Bruhn, S. Peacock and J. Mcßride tied with 67, the former winning in the shoot-off. Details; 15 shots at 500 yards.
