TO BRING RUSSIA TO REASON. ENGLISH RECTOR’S AMBITION. (United Press Association—By Cable— Copyright.! London, March 8. A world war against Russia, in which millions of Christians, Jews and Moslems would make up the armies of the Lord God, is the ambition of the Rev. E. Grevatt, rector qI Pitsea, Essex. He says: “I honestly believe that a declaration of war by the whole Christian world would bring Russia to reason. Russia would hardly dau to accept the challenge but if conceit ed and boastful enough not to comply I am absolutely certain that once the armies of the Lord God crossed the frontier the whole population would hail them as saviours and throe parts of the Red Army would surrender The tyrants would be lucky to escape with their lives. “I feel certain that the manhood of the world would respond to tho call.” SOVIET DECREE. • WHITE PAPER ISSUED. London, March 7. A White T*apcr has been issued reproducing the Soviet decree controlling religious associations. Tho decree is virtually a legal code setting out the terms under which religious groups register or lease buildings free of charge. It throws little llgi ton religious persecution beyond disallowing the organisation of meetings of children, young people and women for prayers. Biblical study and teaching of religion. If leased or purchased, religious buildings shall not be nationalised or from a charge on the local authority. If a place of worship is liquidated all platinum gold, silver and precious stones will be pine ed to the credit of Soviet funds.
