Parkeson hopes to take off from Lympue at dawn on March 11. He aims to reach Rome the first-day of the flight. The machine is fitted with a maximum petr&l capacity sufficient fo- a range of 20 hours, with a view to a flight from Sydney to Auckland. Parkeson said he did not think so much of flying to Australia—the Sydney to Auckland flight was his real objective.
The ’plane carries such a quantity of petrol that there is only sufficient space left for a few sandwiches, a tin of milk and an outsize revolver.
