A heavy cloudburst between Parkes and Gondeblin resulted in a terrific downpour of rain which washed away three miles of railway. Five inches fell in 20 minutes. Five square miles of low country is under water. The banks of dams are burst, fences washed away ahd homes flooded.

A message from Darwin states that record Hoods are reported from various parts of tho Northern Territory. There have been numerous washaways on the railway. Farms have been destroyed and a portion of the telegraph line is down. Twentyone inches fell in ten hours. 'The police station at Daly, is under water.
