LATTER DAY SAINTS

46th ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The 46th annual conference (Hui Tau) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will be held at Tahoraiti, Dannevirke, H. 8., during . the four days from March 14th to 17th, inclusive. Meetings will be conducted by various organisations of the Church. Since it has been one hundred years in April since the organisation of the Church, elaborate programmes are being prepared in commemoration of this event. The auxiliary organisations, Sunday School, primary, and Mutual Improvement Associations are in charge of several meetings. Ce»tain stages of Church history and development will be depicted in several pageants and plays to be given during the various sessions of conference.

On Sunday evening a programme will be presented by the Mutual Improvement Association which has for its 1930 slogan: “We Stand for the Preservation of our Heritage Through Obedience to Law.” Special recreative activities will be conducted on Friday and Saturday evenings by leaders of this group. The missionary personnel of the Church, comprising about 45 young men from America and a large number of local adherents will be present. This gathering is of special interest to the Maori peonle because of the presence of John E. Magleby of Salt Lake City, president of the New Zealand Mission, who has spent ten years of active service among them, and is held in high esteem by the race.

Preparations are being made for 1500 to 2000 people. Visitors are welcome at all sessions and special meetings will be conducted for European friends.
