Ten carriages and a van became uncoupled from the express which left for Wellington nt 7.40 o'clock last night as the train was about to enter Parnell tunnel. Both sections wore brought back to the city and the train recoupled at 9.55 p.m. An extra express timed to depart at 8.4 was delayed till 10.15 p.m. Passengers in the 7.40 express first knew of the mishap because of n jolt, after which the train crew examined the broken couplings ano reported the occurrence.
