SOVIET AMBASSADOR
RECEIVED BY PRINCE OF WALES [British Official Wireless.! (Received 21, 12.30 p.m.) Rugby, Doc. 20. On behalf of the King, the Prince of Wales gave audience in the Thorne Room at St. James’s Palace this morning to M. Sokolnikoff, the recently ap pointed Russian Ambassador, when the Ambassador handed to the Prince his letters of credence.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of the King, gave audience to M. Sokolnikoff, who presented his credentials. Sokolnikoff and his staff were taken to St. James's Palace in two separate carriages, with scarlet cloaked coachmen and .outriders. They were met by the King’s marshallmen and representatives of the Foreign Office. The representations were made in the Throne Room. Immediately afterwards Sokolnikoff called on the Rt. Hon. Arthur Henderson, the Foreign Secretary, and exchanged notes, covering guarantees against propoganda in the Dominions.
