HAWKE CUP CAME. MANAWATU BATS STEADILY. (Per Press Association.) Palmerston North, Dec. 11, The Hawke Cup cricket match was resumed this morning, Manawatu, with two down for 90, continuing their innings. Gallichan and Norris, the not out men, batted freely and after half an hour’s play the score read 110 runs for two wickets. Gallichan and Norris continued to add runs till 12.45, when Gallichan was caught behind the wickets. Almost immediately Norris went out l.b.w. to Lowry, who had forsaken wicketkeeping for bowling. Cutler did not last long. Details:—

M.C.C. MATCH PREPARATIONS. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, Dec. 11. From the M.C.C. team to play Wellington will be omitted Bowley, Benson and a third to be decided on Friday. The team was out practising this morning.
