EAGLET THE OAKS. Christchfurch Nov. 13. The Canterbury Jockey Club's metropolitan meeting was continued to-day in tine weather. The attendance was good and .the course was ui fast order. The totalisator investments were £44,360, compared with £39,541 on the corresponding day last year. Late results:— Jockey Club Handicap, 1 mile.— 10 Sir Geo. Clifford’s Full Feather, 7.1 (R. E. Coveny) 1, 3 Arrow Lad 2, 9 Silver Paper 3. Also ran: 1 Toxeuma, 4 White Fang, 5 Red Heckle, 2 Panther, 3 Consent, 7 Gold Curt, 6 Pride. Won by a length, third two lengths back. Toxeuma was fourth. Time, 1.37 4-5. New Zealand Oaks Stakes, It mile. —1 Mr. F. Earl’s Eaglet (H. Goldfinch) 1. 3 Duellona 2, 4 Disorder 3. Also ran: 6 Sapient, 5 Speed Light, 2 Stately. Won by a length, third two lengths away. Stately was fourth. Time, 2.35 1-5.
Ashley Handicap, 1 mile.—B Mr. J. C. Wallace’s The Bailiff 7.0 (W. Broughton) 1, 1 Make Up 2, 5 Starshooter 3. Also ran: 2 Blue Metal, 3 Tourist, 11 Mount Boa, 4 Sailing Home, 6 Hurly Burly, 9 Master Clarence, 7 Miss Nightraid,-12 Swiftray. Won by half a head, third two lengths away. Master Clarence was fourth. Time, 1.40.
Avon Handicap. 7 furlongs.—B Mr. J. Richardson’s Caterpillar 7.10 (C. Eastwood) 1, 7 Keddar 2, 11 Night Lad 3. Also ran: 3 Atholspear, 2 Royal Saxon, 10 Taboo, 1 Roi de Vai, 6 Subdivision, 11 Gold Tinge, 8 Silver Coot, 13 Buoyant, 4 Waving Corn, 12 Decay Bird. Won by two lengths, third a length away. Royal Saxon was fourth. Time, 1.25 2-5.
