Shortly after 8.30 o’clock last night, Robert John Ashley, a boot finisher, 43 years of age, residing at No. 8 Fifeshire Avenue, was assisted into the Wellington Hospital by a passer-hv who had found him stabbed in Riddiford street. The injured man was immediately attended to, and it was found that he had received a fairly deep cut in the lower part of the hodv. When questioned he refused to disclose the name of his assailant, who is thought to have been an acquaintance.
