WAIMARAMA SPORTS

Waimarama should bo a busy day on Wednesday, April 3, for then the district will hold its annual sports meeting. The events commence at 11 o’clock and entries close 15 minutes before each event.

The events are of the varied order customary at country sports meeting, catering for sportsmen of every type. There will be athletic events for men, ladies and children and numerous horse events. The Brightwell Cup and £lO 10s prize will go to the winner of the open jump and the Kcssell Cup and £4 4s prize to the winner of the Indios’ leaping competition. Messrs Taylor and Dexter, the hon secretaries, have been putting in a lot of bard work preparing for the sports. All arrangements are well in train and a record day seems certain.
