The weather was fine though dull for training work at Ellerslie this morning. The course proper, with Hags 3b feet out from the rails, was open for fast work; also No. 2 grass track. Both were in good order though on the hard slide. On the Course proper. Beau Cavalier, who still shows signs of soreness, ran seven furlongs in 1.42, Eager Rose, Te Money and Gold Money set out over a round and were joined at the six-furlongs post by King Emerald. The latter finished in front with Eager Rose and Gold Money next. The time for the round was 2.8 1-5. and lor the last six furlongs 1,26. • • • My Idea and Neil were going easily over five furlongs, running the distance in 1.12 2-5. Catoma covered four furlongs in 55 2-5. Sleepy Sol and Kawainga ran six furlongs in 1.17. There was little between them at the finish, though Sleepy Sol appeared to be going better. War Officer and Thursby ran six furlongs in 1.20 2-5.

Respirator, Mon Star, Brampton and Bahama were to have gone six furlongs, but Respirator and Mon Star jumped away ahead of the other pair, Mon Star being a shade in front of Respirator at the finish in 1.21. Brampton and Bahama finished close behind them in 1.20 1-5.

Toxeuma had plenty of pace on when he reached the seven-furlong post and was then steadied. He ran home comfortably in 1.40. H. Goldfinch has been engaged to ride him in the President’s. Handicap and the St. Leger.

Hyde Park and Sir Archie went a round. They finished almost on terms. The time was 2.7, the last six furlongs taking 1.21 3-5. Vallar gave Corinax and The Lover a start at the seven-furlong post and beat them by four lengths in 1.29 2-5. It was a good gallop. Vallar was going strongly. After Breakfast. Diamond Queen, Gay Cockade and Bizarro finished as named over six furlongs in 1.19 1-5. Arch Queen cantered round to the three-furlong post and sprinted home in 38 4-sseco.

Lady Quex, from almost a stand, sprinted home from the five-furlong post in 1.5 2-5. Welkne, after running his first three furlongs in 38 2-ssecs, completed seven furlongs in 1.31 4-5.

Praetor and Gemlight, ridden out; finished several lengths in front of Lady Suzanne over four furlongs in 49 2-ssecs. Standfast went nicely while running five furlongs in 1.8. Roman Pearl was timed to run heme from the half-mile post in 51 3-ssecs. Good Boy jumped off at the six-furlong peg and. after running the first two furlongs m 28secs and three in 40 3-ssecs, finished in 1.20. There was little between Glenotus and Clockwork at the end of a round run in 2.11 1-5. Odin, after jumping two hurdles, ran a mile in 1.50 2-5. No. 2 Grass. Bayly and Damon completed a round in 1.50. Myola beat the Day Comet—Cultriform filly over half a mile in 52secs. * • Bulolo went about six furlongs on this track but was not after time. On the Tan. Bright Glow (H. Wiggins), going easily all the way, ran seven furlongs in 1.43. This mare looks well and will be ridden by R. Reed iu the Easter Handicap. The Jumpers. Kilburn (T. Chaplin), Salamander (H. Jones) and Pekatahi (H. Dulieu) were associated in a bout over the schooling hurdles. The two firstnamed were in front after jumping the second hurdle and Kilburn was slightly ahead of Salamander at the fourth. Salamander was then pulled up and Kilburn continued over two more hurdles, giving a good display. ■ » " Pekatahi was pulled up before reaching the fourth hurdle. Killute (T. Chaplin) gave an improved display over a couple of pony hurdles. * * • Master Doon (McNeil) and Harbour View (J. Sharkey) gave a safe display, negotiating six schooling .hurdles. Odin (Chaplin) cleared a couple of hurdles safely. Kamehameha (McNeil), Potoanui (Sharkey), and Uralla (McGovern) went a round over the steeplechase fences, including the hill. Scratchings. Charles Wasley, a jockev. was riding Queen’s Ferry on the Victoria Park track last evening when the horse stumbled, throwing the rider on his head. He was taken to hospital with concussion.
