HAUMOANA
(Own Correspondent.) The usual monthly meeting of the Clive Grange School Committee was held last night. Present: Messrs E. J. Calnan (chairman), G. Bridgman, A, E. Estaugh, J. Young, A. Kite and R. 11. Florence (headmaster). In his report, the headmaster stated that there were 68 children on the school roll with an average attendance of 6.1. The school had gained 18 places at the Danncvirke Show and this brought the number of prizes up to 100 that tho school had won in outside competition during tho past year. The committee heartily congratulated the headmaster on these excellent results. Accounts amounting to £l7 17s 3d were passed for payment. Tho school was granted a holiday for thq autumn show. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr O. Tong for presenting an Honours Board to the school. Tho Clive Grange children did very well in their collections last Saturday for the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Homes, tho amount taken being £4 ■ls sd.
