In the championship events, Lockett. Egan, F. McDonald. Martin, Owen, Shanks, Corkery. Hollis, Turbitt, Fisken, Miller, G. McDonald, Francis, Hutchinson, P. McMahon, M. McMahon, J. Algie, E. Algie, Bai. and Campbell will represent the Gisborne Club, and these, with Watt, Jones, Ballantyne, Hartley, Clare, Markie Barker, Scholium. Mercer and Pritchard make a very formidable team, so that a goodly share of the trophies should return north, and Napier will have to look to its laurels if it is to retain the “Hawke’s Bay Herald” Shield, which it won last year.

In the evening the club will hold a dance in Victoria Hall in honour of the visiting Poverty Bay athletes.
