The Duke of York last night formally accepted o-i behalf of the State the cinematograpli film “The Epic of the South Pole, ” which records the last great expedition of Captain Scott to the Antarctic. This is the first contribution to the Empire (< library” of British films, which is being formed as a permanent pictorial record of the principal events of the age, and which is the first library of its kind to be established in any country. The gift was offered to the nation on behalf of the trustees who had acquired it by Rear-Admiral Evans, who was second in command to Captain Scott during his last expedition. It is anticipated that the library will shortly acquire for the national archives films of the funeral of King Edward, the coronation of King George, and the Prince of Wales’ tour.
