DOG EXHIBITS

AT AUTUMN SHOW. ERECTION OF PAVILION SUGGESTED. The question of housing the dogs exhibited at the shows was rallied at the meeting of tho Hawke’s Bay A. &P. Society this morning. Mr. C. Douglas reported on the activities of the sub-committee appointed. It was recommended that a building 84ft. by 30ft. bo erected to accommodate 272 dogs. The sub-com-mittee was convinced that something must be done to relieve the present conditions, which were most unsatisfactory. Already 26 persons interested have intimated their willingness to join the society, and they consider this number would be increased to 35 or 40. With this increased membership in view, and the added interest ot a number of others who will attend the show, tho sub-com-mittee considered that tne expenditure would be justified. The committee also pointed out that inside accommodation at recent autumu shows had been overtaxed, and the dog pavilion would be available for general use at autumn shows. It was decided to get the grounds committee to report on l the bnuneial side of the question.
