SOLOS AND HYMN TEST. IPer Piess Association.J Wanganui, Feb. 27. The band contests were continued to-day, with the following results: — Champion solo: E. Williams (Woolston), 98, 1; G. Bergerson (Queen Alexandra’s Own), 97, 2; G. Christie (St. Hilda), 96. and W. H. Bowman (Wellington City Silver), 96, 3. E flat cornet: E. Webb (Queen Alexandra’s Own), 95, 1; J. King (Wellington Trams), 91, 2; D. Taylor (Timaru Municipal), 90, 3. Hymn test: Wanganui Garrison, 96, 1; Greymouth Municipal 92, 2; St. Kilda, 91, 3. Trombone trio recalls: St. Kilda Municipal, Queen Alexandra’s Own, Timaru Municipal. Also competed: Danneyirke Municipal, Greymouth Municipal, Hawera Municipal* Hastings Citizens',’Wellington Tramways, Palmerston North Garrison, Woolston Brass. The recalls will be heard tonight. A QUARTETTE PARTY DISQUALIFIED. [Per Press Association.! Wanganui, Feb. 28. Owing to an irregularity in connection with the band contest, the Woolston quartette party ha 8 been disqualified in the quartette competition. The first prize has been awarded to St. Kilda, with Timaru second.
