MAHORA CLUB MEETING. The usual weekly meeting of the Mahora Swimming and Life Saving Club was held in the schoolroom last evening, present, Mr. W. Horne (chairman), Miss C. King, and Messrs J. Wise. C. Lassen, B. McLeod, J. Arroll. A. Crawford and L. Tayler. A letter was received from the Napier Club in connection with an open carnival they are holding on Wednesday next, January 30th. A party of Mahora swimmers journeyed to Dannevirke on Saturday last to take part in the Dannevirke Club’s carnival with the following results:—J. Simpson, Ist schoolboys’ 33 1-3 yards, Ist open 33 1-3 yards; Miss J. Landels, dead-heat Ist ladies’ handicap: C. Kirkley, 2nd boys' diving, Ist open diving; Hollis, Gome, Taylor and Miss Landels, 2nd teams' race. At the usual carnival on Thursdayevening next, the 100 yards Luke Wilson cup (ladies) and 220 yards H.B. Provincial Breaststroke Championship (men) will be decided, and an exhibition of the various swimming strokes will be given by Mr. C. Aitkinson, of Napier. /
