N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS TEN CHOSEN FOR HAWKE'S BAY SIX HERETAUNGA SWIMMERS INCLUDED Ten have been chosen to represent Hawke’s Bay at the New Zealand Swimming Championships to be neld at Wellington eaily next month. The team will b e as follows:— Miss L. Hood (Heretaunga): Ladies diving championship (holder of title).

Miss Z. Fryer (Heretaunga): Junior girls’ breaststroke championship (holder of title). F. Kelly (Heretaunga); Intermediate boys’ diving and swimming championships. M. Redman (Hastings Street) and G. Gleeson (Marist Bros.); Junior boys’ championship events. G. Geddis (Heretaunga); Men's diving championship. Miss Simmonds (Te Awa): Ladies’ championships 100 and 220 yards, and ’ladies’ invitation.

R. Richardson (Gisborne) : Men’s 100 yards championship and 50 yards invitation.

The Centre has also decided to nominate _ C. McKee (Heretaunga) and C. Kemp (Heretaunga) for the men’s diving championship. Mr. H. Le Bas was appointed manager. the question of chaperone being left in the hands of Messrs. Poppelwell and Mclvor to make enquiries in Hastings. The team will leave Napier on Thursday, the 31st. instant, and any member unable to make th e trip is requested to notify the secretary at once. H.B. CENTRE PROFIT ON CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING A meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Swimming Centre was held in Napier last evening when Mr. A. A. George presided. Others present were Messis. W. H. Fulford (Te Awa), C. Atkinson (Napier Technical), H. Poppelweill (Havelock North), R. Ellingham (Te Awa). A.’R. Mclvor (Heretaunga), C. McLean (Napier), H. Seed (Gisborne), E. D. Berry (handicapper), H. M. Bauchope (treasurer), H. Le Bas (secretary) and A. W. H. King (R.L.S.S.). Mr. R. J. Eastwood was appointed as local officer for the Centre at Gisborne.

The Napier Club was granted permission to hold a carnival on the 30th. instant.

The balance sheet of the provincial championship meeting was presented, showing a credit balance of £3B 19/6, which was considered most satisfactory. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Heretaunga Club for its valued assistance, special mention being made of Mr. H. Poppelwell. A lengthy list of remits for the conference of Centres was read and discussed. the Centre’s delegates being instructed in regard to them.
