PAKOWHAI ROAD.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Being an old ratepayer here for many years, I should like"to know why Pakowhai road, between Lyndhurst road and Frederick street, should be tourned into a tourist resort where duck, fowl, fish and mosquitoes prevail, and a tourist only requires his fishing tackle nnd gun to enjoy a good day’s sport, and this, too, right on the main rond to Napier. Would' it be asking the “powers that be” too much to give 'Js a decent water channel, which would probably save a good deal of sickness. We are living in a supposedly progressive district, so why stay progress here. Trusting that this is not Under-estimating the true position—l am, etc., RATEPAYER. Pakowhai road, 1/12/28.
