LEAGUE OF NATIONS

COUNCIL TO MEET AT LUGANO. DB. STRESEMANN’S HEALTH. I British Official Wireless.! (Received 1, 10.40 a.m.) _r ' Rugby, Nov. 30. There seems to be every likelihood that the next meeting of the League of Nations Council, due to begin on December 10th, will be held at Lugano, Switzerland. This will be the first time the Council will have met in Switzerland in a town other than Geneva. The reason is that Dr. Stresemann’s doctors consider that the Climate of Geneva at this time of the year would be prejudicial to the Foreign Minister’s health, which has not yet completely recovered from the effects of his recent long illness. Dr. Stresemann was too ill to attend the last two meetings of the Council, and his desire again to meet Sir Austen Chamberlain and M. Briand in particular, is reciprocated by those statesmen. It has been necessary to obtain the acquiescence of all th* members of the Council before changing the meeting place from Geneva to Lugano, and although all replie* have not yet been received, no objection to the proposal has so far been made. The only political question in th* Council agenda relates to the PolishLethuanian problem, but it is generally considered probable that th* meeting of foreign minister* will *n-

able important, if informal, discussions on current problem* to tak* place.
