GENERAL NEWS AND NOTES.
A final reminder is given of the opening carnival to be held in the Havelock North swimming baths tonight. A free ’bus will leave Westerman’s at 7.30 p.m. A monster garden fete will be hold on Saturday next at Mrs Douglas Williams beautiful home, Endsleigh Gardens, Havelock North. The object of the fete is to raise enough funds to send one of the Havelock Guides to be trained as a Karitane Nurse. One of the attractions of the afternoon will be an historical tableau by some of the members of the Women’s Institute which took the prize at the Otane competitions a few weeks ago
The Havelock North schools arc sitting for their proficiency examinations to-day in the public school. The other classes are having a holiday, many picnic parties having been arranged.
