At, a special sitting of the Hawke’s Bay Licensing Committee this morning the transfer of the license in respect to the Carlton Club Hotel from J. H. White to Mrs Joseph Truman was agreed to. His subject was the growing need for physical culture for boys after leaving the primary school until they reach the age of 18 years. Boys, he said, attending the secondary schools were receiving the necessary physical training, but a large percentage of the others, whose circumstances prevented them from attending secondary schools were found to be below the physical standard they should be owing io their neglect of exercises which would develop their bodies.
