MOTOR TRAVEL
LATEST DEVELOPMENT IN ENGLAND SPECIAL ROAD FROM LONDON TO BRIGHTON. NO SPEED LIMIT. [British Official Wireless-l (Received 9. 11.30 a.m.J Rugby, August 8. The latest development in motor travelling is a scheme for the co*, struction of a special motor road from London to Brighton, The proposed road would have no crossroads and would have separate up and down tracks so that head-on collisions would be impossible. Towns would be avoided. There would be no speed limit and the distance of about 60 miles could therefore easily be covered in an hour, or less than the time taken by the fastest express train. The capital of £3.000,000 required for the project is stated to be ready, The route has already been surveyed and it is hoped to obtain Parliament, ary sanction to the scheme during the autumn.
