PUBLIC NOTICES. THE NAPIEB HARBOUR BOARD And THE NAPIEB BOROUGH COUNCIL IN THE MATTER of a Bill intituled: An ACT to enable the Napier Harbour Board and the Mayor, Councillors and Burgesses of the Borough of Napier to raise the level of a certain area of land owned by The Napier Harbour Board and to authorise the said corporation of the Borough of Napier to borrow moneys for such purpose. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Napier Harbour Board and the Napier Borough Council during the present session of Parliament to promote a Bill for the purpose of—(1) Enabling the Mayor, Councillors and Burgesses of the Borough of Napier (hereinafter called “The Corporation”) to expend moneys in raising the level of the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto and to do other incidental works in connection therewith. (2) Enabling the Corporation to borrow without a Poll moneys not exceeding £30,000 for the purpose of carrying out the said works. (3) Providing that the said works may be carried out by the Corporation itself or by contract with some other person or by the Harbour Board. (4) Authorising the Corporation and the Harbour Board to enter into an agreement providing for (a) the carrying out of the said works and the extent and method of reimbursement of the Corporation by means of payment of a proportion of the rentals of the said lands; (b) the reading, sewering, subdivision and laying of water mains in and to the said lands; (c) generally bringing the lands into suitable condition for use and occupation; (d) the leasing of the lands; (e) the rating of the said lands; (f) the respective portions of the cost to be borne by the Harbour Board and the Corporation in the above matters. (s)Providing that the said lands be brought into the Borough on the execution of the said agreement. (6) Providing that certain powers of the Harbour Board contained in the Napier Harbour Board Empowering Loan and Constitution Amendment Act of 1927 shall apply to the said lands. (7) Authorising the Harbour Board to acquire the interests of the Lessees in the Board’s lands in connection with the said works. SCHEDULE. ALL THAT piece or parcel of land situate in the Hawke’s Bay Land District being parts of the Napier Harbour Board’s Ahuriri Lagoon and Te Whare-O-Maraenui Reserves and containing Ninety-two acres (92a.) more or less and bounded as follows:—Commencing at a point on the Southeastern side of the Taradale-Napier Road intersected by the left bank of the Tutaekuri River, thence Southeasterly by that bank of the said River, about Forty-nine chains to the North western side of a dredged channel, thence South-westerly by that side of the said channel about twentytwo and one-half chains to the Northeastern side of the Maraenui Road, thence North-westerly by that side of the said Boad, Four thousand six hundred and sixteen and one-tenth links to the South-eastern side of the aforesaid Taradale-Napier Road and thence North easterly by that side of the said road to the commencing print. A copy of the proposed Act, together wtih a plan of the said land was this day deposited in the Maerstrate’s Court, Napier, on accordance with the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives and will there remain open for public inspection for a period of three complete weeks.
