WAR RELIEF
NAPIER ASSOCIATION MEETS. MONTHLY STATEMENT PRESENTED. The monthly meeting of the Napier branch committee of the Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association was held on Monday. The statement of payments and receipts for May was placed before the meeting and adopted. This showed that the transactions for the month uad been as follows:—Grants to 47 soldiers, £165 4/5; grants to two dependants, £lB 17/6; loans to five soldiers. £42 13/3; total, £226 15/2. Loans refunded bv 42 soldiers. £163 14/10; loans refunded on account of "tb"r securities £1 10/-; total, £165 4/10. The committee decided that eighteen grants amounting to £ll6, and one loan amounting to £5 be made in connection with the applications before the meeting. It was also derided to recommend 1 to the provincial executive that one loan amounting to £25 be made by the association.
