DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR
DISTURBANCE IN DINING ROOMS. YOUNG MAN BEFORE THE COURT. As a sequel to the disturbance in the Olympic dining-rooms last night, Robert Farmer, aged 21, appeared at the Napier Court this morning on charges of behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place, of being drunk, of using obscene language and of resisting the police. Constable Howe stated that at about 11.30 p.m., as a result of the accused and a companion kicking up a row, he was called into the diningroom. After warning the accused three times witness found it necessary to arrest him. The accused resisted violently, making use of repeated obscene language. Prior to witness going to the diningroom the accused threw a knife at a young man occupying another table. Farmer was fined £5 on the various charges and costs, being also rd-.ed to pay the damage done in the diningroom. He will be prohibited for 12 months.
