BRILLIANT AFFAIR

WAIPUKURAU SCHOOL BALL LARGE ATTENDANCE OF CHILDREN MANY STRIKING COSTUMES (Own Correspondent.) For that ever popular event, the ball of the scholars attending the Waipukurau District High School, complete preparations had been made by the committee set up for the occasion, and a really delightful eveniug’s merriment was the result. There was an excellent attendance at the Municipal Theatre. Messrs, C. F. Hartland. W. Adams, L. R. Cutforth, W. Gosnell, W. H. P. Walsh and G. Brierly were M’s.C.

The supper details for the evening were in the hands of a committee of ladies, headed by Miss Caughley. To Messrs F. B. Curd (Headmaster), W. G. Bryce (Chairman), and J. H. Hindman (Hon. Secretary) is due special credit for the attention paid to the general arrangements. Up till 11 o’clock several hundred juveniles were in occupation of the floor, a grand march, dances and games forming part of the entertaining programme, aided by the music provide:] by an orchestra under the leadership of Mr. S.
