CARD EVENING
KIA TOA CLUB. In spite of the wet night nearly 100 people were present at the successful “500” evening held by members of the Kia Ton Croquet and Bowling Clubs at the Oddfellows’ Hall. Mr. T. Williams presided over the card playing, and all scent an enjoyable time A home-made supper provided by the members concluded the evening’s entertainment. An afternoon tea cloth with six table-napkins to match was won as first prize by Mrs Jones. Second prize, six afternoon tea spoons, was awarded to Mrs King. The men’s prizes were awarded as follows:—First prize, a thermos flask, Mr. T. Keith • second prize, silk socks. Mr. 0. Burge. Next month the members of the Kia. Ton Club intend to have another “500” evening and dance.
