The Oaks resulted:—Toboggan 1, I Scuttle 2, Flegere 3. Thirteen started. Won by four length, six lengths between second and third. SCUTTLE A HOT FAVOURITE. [British Official Wireless.) (Received 9, 11.30 a.m.) Rugby, June 8. Strong hopes were entertained that the King would to-day on Epsom Downs win The Oaks, the classic race for three-year-old fillies. His filly. Scuttle, was a hot favourite, but could only finish second, being beaten by four lengths by Lord Derby’s Toboggan. Mr Somerville Tattersail’s Flegere was third. Lord Derby, by the victory of Toboggan, obtained some compensation for the' failure of his colt Fairway in the Derby.
