THE PICTURE HOUSES

COSY DE LUXE. “Colleen,” shown on the double bill at the Cosy, is the story of Irish hearts, Irish fortunes and Irish horses. Madge Bellamy is cast as demure Sheila Kelly, owner of the pedigreed race horse Nora, and daughter of a wealthy Irish landholder. She is in love with Terrance O’Flynn, the last of an impecunious, though, noble, Irish family, owner ot “Coifoen,” Nora’s only rival on the Irish turf. Excitement and comedy alternate in an attractive picture. Reginald Denny, in the other half of the bill, “Out All Night,” as the man about town who marries a cute little ballet dancer, is delightful always, and the story injects him into all manner of strange and embarrassing situations. The complications that involve Denny provide more side-splitting mirth than has been screened for some time. Masquerading as a ship’s physician, he embarks with his newly-wed wife who is a show trouper, and their trip to London is a series of embarrassing manoeuvres so that he may see her, MUNICIPAL. Florence Vidor’s impersonation of a somnambulist nearly ends in a death plunge in one of the scenes of her new Paramount production, “One Woman to Another,” now on the screen at the Municipal Theatre. In this incident of her society comedy, Miss Vidor is in her sweetheart’s home, having schemed with a girl friend to make him come to his senses and marry her. She climbs on the roof, pretending she is walking in her sleep, looks to the ground and becomes faint. Just as she is about to topple off, he saves hed. Theodor von Eltz is cast as the leading man opposite Miss Vidor. Others in her support are Hedda Hopper, little Joyce Marie Coad, and Jimsy Boudwin. The serial is among the many supports.
