PRICES ON LONDON MARKET INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT. SHIPMENT TO BRAZIL. [United Press Assn.—By Cable— Copyrignt.l lAustralian and N.Z. Press Assn.l (Received 26, 9.20 a.m.) London, May 25. The Argyllshire's New Zealand apples fetched the following prices :— Dunns and Delicious 11/- to 12/-, Lord Wqlseley’s 10/6 to 11/-, Jonathans 16/6 to 12/An interesting development is the exportation from London this week of 6558 boxes of New Zealand apples to Brazil. It is understood the Union Cold Storage Co purchased them at current market prices and has shipped 4,000 to Santoa and 2556 to Rio de Janiero by the Blue Star liner Avila. Before the Panama Canal was opened direct shipment used to be made to South America from New Zealand. The apples always realised excellent prices. If the present shipment is equally successful others may follow as meat carriers returning to Argentine offer abundance of refrigerated space. Traders here would welcome further exports to South Ameifea as it would relieve congestion in England. AUSTRALIAN CARGOES. The Port Hobart’s, Hochst’s and Abbekerk’s apples, landed at Hamburg, fetched the following prices:— From Victoria: Cleopatras 11/6 to 15/3, Dunns 12/. to 15/3, Granny Smiths 11/- to 14/6, Munros 11/- to 15/7, Jonathans 11/- to 14/3, others 10/- to 12/6. From Tasmania: Cleopatras 10/6 to 15/6. Dunns and Munros 10/6 to 14/3, Jonathans 10/- to 14/3, Oox’s 11/-'to 14/3, Duke Clarence 10/6 to 12/9, Tasman’s Pride’s 11/- to 13/3, others 9/- to 11/-. Tasmanian pears, in boxes sold at: Boses 17/- to 25/-. Vicars 10/- to 13/6, Clairgeanu 16/. to 17 1- Cornice 15/- to 15/3, Winter Coles 15/- to 17/9, and above for sound fruit. A considerable number were wasty. All varieties ranged from 1/6 to 12/-.
