Shipping is warned. During to-night the weather should break and continue broken for about 36 hours and, although the barometer will be moderately high, heavy rain with flooded rivers should result, mors especially in the northern area towards the Wairoa river and then northwards. Thick and misty weather should develop at sea with a tendency towards electric disturbances. Cold and raw conditions will obtain generally. DOMINION METEOROLOGISTS’ REPORT. The Dominion Meteorologist telegraphs as follows for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:—The indications are for easterly winds strong to gale and backing by east to north.
