FOR HAWKE’S BAY DISTRICT ISSUED DAILY BY MR K K WRAGGE, FR.M.B. EXCLUSIVE TO “TRIBUNE.” [By Telegraph—Special to the “Tribune.] Birkenhead, May 24. Forecast for 24 hours from 0 a.m. to-day, covering the area between Wairoa, Te Aute and the ranges inland :— The anti-cyclone which extends wedge shaped from the Three Kings to Bluff, now shows more definite signs of breaking up. Subsidiary low pressure wave # are directly east of Hastings in adjacent seas, while the new Antarctic disturbance “Duchess’’ is gradually making northing from the south-west Tasman. Thus, fair to fine conditions should yet obtain for a while. Albeit, cloudiness and haze should become more general. Towards ever'ng more or less heavy dark cumulus clouds ftould form over the hills and timbered country to the westward with resultant local precipitation moving in some place s towards the coast as along the waterways or well defined leading valleys. Winds freshening from between N.E. N., and W.N.W. Sea moderating, rising later. DOMINION METEOROLOGISTS’ . • REPORT. The Dominion Meteorologist telegraphs as follows for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:—The indications arc for south-easterly winds strong to gale at times. The weather will probably prove cold and showery. Barometer little movement.
