LATE CABLES IN BRIEF. Empire Timber Supplies: Asked whether the Empire Governments woud co-operate in an inquiry into Empire supplies of timber suitable for paper-making, the Hon. L. M. Amery replied that the ground was largely covered by the Imperial Economic Committee’s inquiry into the marketing of Empire timbers. The position would be further examined bv the Imperial Forestry Conference in Australia and New Zealand in September. World's Grain Exhibition: A message received in Ottawa from Regina states that the World’s Grain Exhibition and Conference, at which other dominions will be represented, is planned to take place at Regina in 1932. It will be backed bv the Governments of Manitoba. Saskatchewan and Alberta and agricultural colleges and farmers’ organisations hare pledged their co-operation. A delegation has been sent to Ottawa io ask the Dominion Department of Agriculture to take charge of the organisation.
