HASTINGS REFEREES' MEETING MORE MEMBERS REQUIRED. The annual meeting of the Hastings Referees’ Association was held last evening, Mr A. Kirkpatrick presiding over a fair attendance of members Tlie following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron Mr H. M. Campbell. M.P.; president, Mr G. A. Maddison; vice-presidents, Messrs L. McLean. J. Lyons, and Dr. Roberts • delegate to the Hastings Sub-Union. Mr A Kirkpatrick; executive, Mr A. Kirkpatrick and the secretary. Mr E. D. Anderson resigned the position of secretary, but will continue in office until his successor is appointed at the next meeting. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mr Pointon and his son on the death of Mrs Pointon. A letter was directed to be sent to Mr A. Aiderman regretting his indisposition. and expressing the hope that his extended holiday would have the effect of completely restoring his health. The necessity for increasing the number of referees was brought up, a nd all enthusiasts are invited to join the association, so that there will be an ample supply of referees to deal with the many matches which will have to be controlled in the approaching season.
