On enquiry at the Napier Hospital this afternoon it was ascertained that Mr. Roy Gallien is progressing very satisfactorily. Now that the main Hastings-Clive-Napier road is closed owing to the collapse of the Waitangi bridge, a considerable portion of the motor traffic uses th© Pakowhai-Mocanee-Awatoto road, the condition of which, in the vicinity of the stop-hank crossings, is in a very bad state of disrepair. Whilst the fine weather lasts, however, .it can be negotiated at a very slow speed, and with risks of broken springs. NEW YEAR'S GIFT ADVERTISEMENT CONTINUED.
