SUPREME COURT.
AUCKLAND SENTENCES. Auckland, Feb. 6. (Per Press Association). In the Supreme Court, Christian Horton, formerly secretary of the Te Kuiti Racing Club, admitted misappropriating £232 of the club’s funds and was sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment. Robert Leonard Pickworth, for forgery at Thames, received three years’ reformative treatment. Maurice Chapman, who admitted forgery of a cheque for £lOO, received twelve months’ hard labour. Francis William Sweetmail, aged 28, for bigamy, received two years’ hard labour. Myra McKernan, a married woman, for obtaining money by false pretences at Whangarei, was sentenced to three years’ probation, conditional on £4O being repaid by instalments. Edward Russell Everett, for theft, forgery and attempted uttering, received probation for one year.
